Last quarter covered a KVM prototype and the first stages of KVM support in qemu-linaro. A rough estimate is that we have 9 calendar months worth of work to go. Discuss what to do in this quarter and the concrete things to achieve. PENDING: Peter and Michael should have done the epic plan before Connect based on that, may want to update the title of this blueprint Discuss: * Missing base level features * Any patches that are needed for KVM in the linux-linaro kernel * Producing a hardware pack for the host and guest * Producing a guest image * Current performance issues * Bringing in virtio into QEMU and the kernel * Integration with Ubuntu

Each platform we have contains a core to offload graphics. We need to extend the existing support, bring up support for chips that haven't had accelerated graphics and plan for the future.

This session is to discuss what future topics we might be interesting for the dev platform group to work on in the future cycles. Suggestions:  * Toolchain CI * ARMHF (still something to do?)  * Extending LAVA support  * Cross Build Support  * Improving the Releases  * Server  * Ubuntu TV, Phone and Tablet

ARM progress in various distros (including the new HF ABI) and build/port issues - sharing ideas and problems that people may have related to ARM porting ARMv8 Standardization Multiarch Triplets

Planning for a Linaro graphics working group project to contribute to prior work on the webkit-gtk+ that enables WebGL. Currently, that support relies on an underlying GLX and desktop OpenGL implementation to support WebGL, which would be sub-optimal on ARM platforms (as those implementations would nearly all be software only). We want to support WebGL with EGL and OpenGL ES 2.0, which is a cleaner mapping to the WebGL specification and is better supported for ARM.

Most SoC vendors distribute binary blobs with Linux kernel shims. These binary blobs enable graphics engines, DSPs and other cores on ARM and other architecture SoCs. These binary blobs tend to be tied to specific kernel versions which limits unreadability and hackability and complicates device manufactures, which slows down innovation and the introduction of new and unique computing devices. This BoF is aimed at trying to improve this situation with pragmatic steps. Anyone interested in discussing their experience with binary blob integration, ideas for making this easier to deal with across architectures, ways to encourage openness while allowing vendor differentiation and others interested in a constructive dialog should attend.

Linaro has ICS running on TI's 4460 and 4430. This session will discuss running Android on these and any future boards from TI. This session will be a great opportunity to plan for extending existing support on 4430 and 4460 and look towards the future.

ARM's new big.LITTLE model allows runtime control of pairs of CPU clusters with different capabilities. This blueprint covers the initial design and implementation of a switcher component based on ARM's contributed switcher code.

Session devoted to Freescale imx*, imx53 audio issues. A rep from the Freescale landing team will be present.

At the moment, protection is based on path containing either 'origen' or 'snowball' in the name. We should improve that to allow per-build protection in an easy way. At the moment, our implementation is limited by what mod_rewrite can support (i.e. it has support for path processing and can potentially check for existence of files and environment variables, and not much else). Discuss if we can solve it with mod_rewrite or if more complicated approaches are needed.

Discussion of issues around ACPI on ARM platforms

Identify, benchmark and optimize hardware independent kernel subsystems used in server workloads which would benefit from ARM or NEON assembly optimizations. Specifically, look at optimizing these kernel functions: - RAID - CRC32 - IPSEC - crypto subsystem at large

Linaro has ICS running on STE's Snowball. This session will discuss running Android on this and any future boards from STE. This session will be a great opportunity to plan for extending existing support on the Snowball and look towards the future.

A planning session dedicated to audio and Android.

This session will present the current state of cross build support with multi-arch, and discuss about any future development still needed to make it to fully work on Ubuntu/Debian (not having whole archive, but to have the tools fixed and working correctly).
